Why did we build a "BOMB" you might ask, is BBM now in the business of building military arsenal? Some of the key features of the BBM 16V intake manifold are not only in its uncompromised design and construction. We had one primary goal in mind, smooth transitions for optimized air flow thus maximizing efficiency. When it comes to high performance under pressure, keeping the air path as smooth and clean as possible is extremely important. Optimized geometry not only keeps the air cooler it also helps to sustain velocity. The more air you pack into an engine with forced induction the more important this becomes. Cooler air with added velocity equals a combustion charge with more air density. Ah how nice, more air with added fuel means even more power.
What makes the "BOMB" better than others? Sure there are manifolds out there with flat plate construction, choppy air transitions and angled runners. We simply did not compromise on the design and construction of our intake manifold. From its fluid flow transitions at the throttle body adaptor to 3D machined internal funnels for smoother air flow. It also features runners that shoot directly in-line and parallel to the intake ports at the head. We continued with a no compromise theme to deliver a straight shot right up to the intake valve for the ultimate in performance. Application Details: This manifold is designed and intended for use on VW 16V engines running EFI and not the original CIS mechanical fuel injection that these 16V cars came with. This manifold requires the use of a Mk3 ABA 2.0L accessory bracket, alternator, pulleys and belt system to accommodate manifold clearance. You can also move the original 16V alternator down to the AC position for this required manifold clearance. This manifold does not work with or clear BBM Supercharger kits.

Fittings: Includes (2) 1/8" vacuum line fittings, port option for either the factory VW air intake temperature sensor or your choice of GM style air intake temperature sensor port
Throttle Body Adaptors: Options for the factory Mk2, Mk3 2.0L, Mk3 VR6 OBDI and the extra large Mustang throttle body adaptor
Coolant Flange: Due to our unique and direct straight shot runner design the standard 16v coolant flange will not clear the "BOMB" manifold. ABF front engine coolant flange included.
Throttle Cable: Throttle cable tap TIG welded onto the manifold to hold the factory throttle cable and clip, for the following throttle body adaptor options - Mk2 & Mk3 throttle bodies only Note: the Mustang style throttle body utilizes a throttle cable pull point that is not mounted on this intake manifold.
