Dizzy Gizzy: What is a Dizzy Gizzy? A Dizzy Gizzy is modeled after the Factory VW 16v oil pump drive. when the 16v engine was introduced in 1986, it featured a 16v Dual Over Head Camshaft ( DOHC) or twin cam setup. This setup could have worked with a standard distributor in the engine block, however there were a few things that we changed. Moving the distributor to the side of the head gives the ignition a director drive on the camshaft rather than a belt that could deviate timing throughout the rpm range. With the block mounted distributor removed they needed something to drive the oil pump located directly below the distributor hole. Thus the engineers at VW came up with a plug that had a drive gear so the intermediate shaft would still drive the oil pump. Our Dizzy Gizzy mimics the VW 16v plug with one key difference, our dizzy can be used with a standard flat blade oil pump where as the 16v used a splined oil pump ( similar to the diesel's). We offer out Dizzy Gizzy in 2 styles. 1.8L or small hole and 2.0L or large hole.
16V Distributor Block-off and coil bracket: Our BBM 16V distributor block-off and coil bracket allows anyone going crank trigger EFI to remove the 16v distributor and block it off so the oil stays in your engine where it belongs. An added feature to the 16V distributor block-off is our integrated coil bracket for the IGN-4 ignition coil used in our Megasquirt kits. this Gives you a similar to stock location for your spark plug wires to terminate but still have the added reliability and performance of a standalone setup. Note: pictures depict an older model of bracket. new pictures coming soon.
ABA 16V Intermediate Shaft Drive Gear: When you are dead set on recreating an engine that never made its way to the U.S. but can't find yourself a 3 year only intermediate shaft ( 2.0L 16V U.S. market). This kit gives you the ability to create that unicorn while still using your stock ABA intermediate shaft, Our pulley is an aftermarket 16V IMS pulley with the pin cut down and a slot put in the the ABA style keyed shaft included in the kit is a spacer that takes of the space left over by the narrower pulley so you can torque the pulley on the shaft to factory specifications. Currently only offered in Red.
16V Serpentine Crank Pulley: Updating your car from the 80's has never been so easy. Our 16V serpentine crank pulley gives you reliability of a serpentine setup on a vehicle that only ever came with 2-3 V-belts. designed to be used on a G60 or an ABA serpentine setup with a 16v head, This pulley is lightweight enough to give you some freedom on the rev's yet not so lightweight it causes harmonic issues. designed to use the factory power steering crank pulley that can be installed right inside of our aluminum pulley.
BBM Sensor Bung: Our BBM sensor bungs are designed to replicate the plastic sensor bungs that originated on the Mk2 Digifant systems for the coolant and the Corrado for the CO Potentiometer. These give you the ability to move your coolant sensors or CO Pot. to an area where they can't be seen or maybe you are adding them into a vehicle that didn't come with this style sensor. Available in Aluminum and Steel.
